GoogleGoogle has cut the original time in half for storing the personal data of its users. This is a move aimed at increasing privacy.

Last  year until recently the time for data storage was 18 months, but the time limit is now only 9 months.

Google aims to bring more privacy to its users by making their computer addresses more anonymous. Google is taking this step to calm the concerns of some users. They are also taking the step to simply improve the privacy of their users.

Microsoft seems to think that the shift in Google was because of pressure that they we feeling from rival companies. There are whispers that just a year and a half ago, Google was keeping the personal information of their users for an infinite amount of time. Then Google moved to the 18 month policy because of regulations from the European Union.
