ComcastComcast has been under a lot of scrutiny lately about its practices towards file sharing to its users. At first Comcast denied allegations that it was hampering certain types of Internet traffic specifically Peer to Peer traffic. But after public interest groups and even the FCC were in on the allegations a investigation by the Associated Press revealed that it was indeed blocking certain traffic.

However on Thursday Comcast announced it will no longer hamper this type of traffic and will treat all traffic equally. Comcast has stated that during high peak times it will "throttle" high bandwidth usage users to keep the bandwidth equally distributed to other users. Comcast stressed the fact that these throttles will only be temporary during high usage times and as soon as bandwidth is available the system will stop the throttle. This new system is said to be in affect by the end of this year.
